So this is just a forum discussing my project for overclocking with undervolts could become a great failure or could help others with an idea towards a future AMD build

Specifications:
-Motherboard- Asus Sabertooth 990fx
-Cpu Cooler-Corsair H80 push/pull cold air into case
-Ram-Corsair Vengeance 16GB rated at 1600mhz@1.5v
-PSU- Seasonic X series 1050w
-CPU-AMD 1090T

~m=multipliers, bs=bus speeds, NB=Northbridge~

Test 1- Stable "prime95 @ 11 hours - 3.850mhz @ 1.28750v "16m x 240bs" NB @ 2889 mhz @1.20625v - Idle temps 22c Full load 42c

Test 2-Testing 4080mhz @ 1.35v "17m x 240bs" NB @2889@ 1.20625v

will continue the testing hopefully give some

Nice read here. I am surprised to see you were able to achieve 3.8ghz @ 1.2875v. I had to bump mines up to like 1.375 in order to reach 3.8. And for 4.0 I had to go even higher to 1.45. This is the reason why I sold it off and switched to intel. I am like this thread..

For Test 4 look back at Test 2 and compare the results
Test 4 Stable - 4042mhz 16.5m x 245bs @ 1.35v @NB 2950mhz @ 1.23125v~ Ram increased from 1599 to 1638 with stock 1.5v.

-Notes- Tested at different bus speeds allowed for better results with overall Cpu, ram and northbridged overclocked.

Test 5- overclocking to 4ghz under the stock voltages 1.35 with completely different multipliers & bus speeds will be continued....

Im new to all this overclocking (about a year) its only been laptops but they where getting too boring to mess with, t'll be interesting to see what you find as the most stable, I have overclocked and undervolted my past 3 M/Bs with the 1090T ( im not having much luck with M/Bs at the mo!) first was a Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H I had for 4 months before it blew the CPU fan Hearder, second was the Sabertooth 990FX that I returned after 2 weeks dew to a horrible high pitched noise from it and i'm now on the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5H and so far (7 days!) so good, between the two 990FX's I must say there seems to next to no difference in the overclocking + undervolting I could achieve, the only day to day difference that I notice is the UD3H has noticeably better audio in movies games etc and for some bizzar reason the CPU runs on average about 8c cooler the the sabertooth, error? maybe but all other temps on the sabertooth where always lower (load & idle) than the gigabyte, the main reason I overclock/undervolt is because my rig much to my wifs discust lives under the table next to my seat on the sofa so it has to be silent, I mainly use it for HD movies and streaming them around the house and to my parents using a 100 meter Cat6e cable so its on 24/7, less volt=less heat=slow fans=silence! it has 12 fans in total in my modded Antec 300 all running as slow as poss and they never have the need to increase unless Im messing about, even stressing they stay below 45% and keep the CPU around 37c.
below should be a picture of a 4hr prim with temps, fans volts mem etc, of the Sabertooth 990FX overclocked to 3.6 and undervolted to 1.3v that might be of interest.
Happy tweeking and ill be looking forwad to test 5 results!
Ben
