I just received one of these monitors unintentionally.

Without going into details, it's a VERY cheap stand and case, but much lighter. The panel is your standard LG panel, but has the 10bit to 8bit FRC. I calibrated it with a Spyder4Elite and it displays 100% of sRGB.

The down side? I bought it for the component input, but mine has a problem with the top of the screen flashing when using component. I'm hoping it's just a one off problem with the one I received and not a problem with the monitor in general. I'll be returning or exchanging it.

If anyone else buys one of these, can you please check the component input and verify that it works without issue at 480p?

I got mine a few days ago, but got no video output when I first tried it. Didn't get around to opening up and finding the loose cable until today, but it works after plugging in the flexi cable (what a horrible connector). The metal plate that goes over the panel's pcb is missing a screw, about par for the course rolleyes.gif Jebus knows nobody buys these for the build quality. The bezel is decent enough, the logo is annoying, and the stand is pretty basic.

I got some intense flickering at the bottom of the screen at first when scrolling or doing anything with motion on the screen, but it went away after i watched a video so I'm assuming its the dvi cable. The screen itself is of course is as good as advertised, I did get one stuck green pixel though. Its on the bottom left so not the worst spot, and its expected from an a- panel (and no, a perfect pixel guarantee is not going to help from the sellers that offer it as its only for dead pixels).

One thing I do have to say is nice is that it switches inputs very quickly. Maybe its not as noteworthy as I find it, but my old monitor (Samsung t260) took 3 seconds to switch.

Why is this monitor cheaper than the 27M which is basically the same thing but it doesn't have a DP port? I don't get it....

The 27m has a better stand and a metal back (don't know if the bezel is metal, don't think so) while the gold has displayport. Otherwise, they should be the exact same thing.

Don't know yet, but probably not. Displayport would be useful for the catleap b pcb, but its unlikely that these models have a pcb that can overclock.
