nope..both is beast cards...the only thing dont like about nvidia is the 2 gb vram when its the flagship and the voltage control..from ati the drivers for cf but well i am more than pleased

1 Gtx 580, Sli is overated (No offense sli users). But i personally would go an ati gpu.

The 7970 is only like $30 more. Considering that your looking at cards in the $500 range, im not sure why $30 would sway you either way.What Im thinking of for the 7970 is gpu acceleration. Amds gcn is up to twice as good as nvidias kepler in stuff like that. Also as said here a 7970 can oc beyond a 680 and match or beat it, while haveing 3gb of vram
