Skyrim "Smithing Question"

Thread Starter
So I just unlocked the smithing ability "advanced Armor" so I can create scalled armor. I have unlocked the skill but when I'm at the forge I have no option to create armor like that, just up to elevian. Any advice?

IIRC scale armor is under Iron or Steel.

Ahh. Thank you. I found it. +rep. Hey, my enchanting level is at like 47 but it seems like everything I try to enchant I can't enchant it. Example. I have a drawrven sword that has no magic or anything on it, it's just a plane sword, I have disenchanted a ton of stuff and I have every soul gem you can think about, but still can't enchant the items. I can't even enchant daggers. =/ Some help with this?

when you say you can't enchant items do you mean the options are grayed out or you don't have the option to enchant after selecting item/enchantment/soul gem? I had similar issues while using a wired XBOX 360 controller, unplugged it and it worked fine.

Also make sure your soul gems are full, many of the ones you find are empty. Some enchantments are unable to be placed on weapons, and others can't be put on armors. If all you've disenchanted are armors, there's a good chance the enchantments won't apply to weapons.

I see. so I need to disenchant armor the place the enchantments on armor? And I need to disenchant weapons to enchant weapons? I have a bunch of grand filled soul gems but when I try to enchant my elevian great sword everything is greyed out. I game on the PC btw.

Yes, you'll need to disenchant weapons in order to enchant your weps, all the grayed out ones are armor enchants.. Also note, I wouldn't waste your good soul gems on your weapons since they are only used to recharge it, lesser ones are enough. Save the Grand Soul gems and stuff for your armor, because it nets a permanent increase.
