Confirming our rumor posted last week, AMD has officially announced lower prices for their HD 7970, HD 7950 and HD 7770. They’ve also added new new game promotion which adds three free titles alongside a DLC. Starting tomorrow you’ll find the following prices on AMD’s cards:

HD 7970: $479

HD 7950: $399

HD 7770: $139

I know a thread like this was posted, but this is confirmed so maybe warrants another thread?

I don't think the 7970 is worth less than the GTX 680 but hey... Sweet prices are to come.

Bout time, you can't be slower AND more expensive. They'll always have a market with the penny pinchers, may as well just embrace it. All their inflated prices did was have nVidia increase their own, since their mainstream chip outperformed their top end. Lose/lose for consumers.

Until nVidia's "highend" GPU part is released I consider the GTX 680 a "highend" part.

It isn't unusual for nVidia to price their top-end cards way up there so it's a little unfair to say AMD was to blame for it.

Regarding speed... We all know at stock clocks the GTX 680 is faster but things are not so peachy once both are overclocked.

7770 finally makes sense. 7950 is more appealing, nice job AMD.

Awesome free game deal.
