Best way to delete old GPU drivers!?

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter
Hey guys so I have a 7870 I just bought that I am actually sending back because I am getting a 7950 instead. Unfortunately I have to take out the 7870 and put in my old Gtx 460 in in mean time. I want everything to go as smoothly as possible so what would you suggest before putting my 460 back in and also when I get the 7950?

Every time I update drivers, I use this guide to completely remove the old drivers and install the new ones. Hope that helps thumb.gif

To summarize what I do;

1, Uninstall MSI-Afterburner,

2, Reboot

3, Uninstall PhysX then Nvidia Graphics Driver via Programs and Features.

4, Reboot

4.5 Shouldn't exist as you should have Windows set not to auto-detect and install updates since it will force install a default driver*

5, Run DriverSweeper and check for Nvidia - Display + PhysX

6, Reboot

7, Install the newest driver

8, Reboot

9, Install the newest MSI-AB beta.

Driver sweep / Ati-Man Uninstaller + CCleaner = Success =)
