Oh man, we pulled an 8800 ultra from one of our PC's we have running our display wall at work the other week, the amount of nostalgia as every one gathered around to take a look was great
Anyway back on topic, I think that these will be that last last hurrah of the performance HDD. As destiny increases with things like the salt and HAMR tech the is going to lead to a huge
increase in sequential speeds where they are only 2-3x behind SSD's already (though ssd's will more than likely stay out at same margin). So in a few years time We'll have a 10TB+ drive with sequential way over the SATA 3 limit with ssd's that are going to be getting close to 50c per GB, there's just not going to be market for them.
