[TH] Ivy Bridge launch moved up. - Page 4

It doesn't matter, I'll have to wait for benches before I move forward on Ivy Bridge, I'm fairly sure this CPU is going to present problems...

We shall see...

IIRC this is an overclockers forum. Performance is our goal.
7% clock for clock, a ~4.2Ghz Ivy equals the average overclock of ~4.5 / 4.6Ghz that most people on OCN achieve.
If we can trust our members who own an Ivy chip, overclocking on Ivy is OK till about 4.5Ghz. Some even got decent temps at 4.8Ghz. It depends how lucky you are in the silicon lottery. Wait for the next revision and things will probably get better.
It might not be a better overclocker in sheer Ghz, but you'll need less and it'll outperform SB especially at the same clock speed.

Thanks Captain Obvious thumb.gif Didn't really know that just made the account rolleyes.gif

Looks like Intel wants to hurry up and get this flop over with. Here's to hope for a much better revision.

Flop or not still beats anything AMD has

Cannot wait to get some reliable performance information about these chips.

I heard that the onboard graphics are getting all the attention this time, so not too excited.

love the world of CPU and COMPUTER its a king of the hill game that Intel and AMD play. Every CPU that comes out tries to be the king, PILEDRIVER just might be that king we will see

I hate to break it to you but... no.

AMD is a few gens behind in terms of performance. One CPU generation is not going to make up for the 3-4 years that it is behind.

Intel, you take as long as you need. The more time you get, the more revisions there will be. Take this time and make me regret buying my 2550K forever. thumb.gif
