WP7 may be good but it's not that good that I'm going to drop my account.

x2. Unless purchases go cross-platform, as smartphones become more integrated into our lives, there will be increases barriers to switching an OS. I'm rooted in iOS myself and have no real reason, or incentive to change OS's, but I do have a disincentive.

I wonder if it'd be at all possible for app writers to make it possible for me to say, purchase the iOS version of an app on an iPhone but then also own the Android and WP versions if they switch.

I doubt so, that would be like: you buy Office on PC and get free Mac version. Development still costs money smile.gif

The good news is that Microsoft encourages free apps development

But then they wouldn't be making enough money off of you. thumb.gif

How about an app pack? The original app price per platform, and a discounted price for multiplatform as long as the accounts are verified.

I think this would be a fail if true... I think certain phones will only get this instead of 2 year-old, first-generation handsets, such as the Lumia x00, Titan 2, etc.

Latest rumor:

Nokia & Microsoft are testing a build of Apollo on the Lumia 610. Not 'performant' enough. Yet.

Why... That's my biggest question is why.

Last year the bandwagon caravan was steamrolling with Windows Phone hate, and almost instantly every likes it. Grea marketing on Microsofts part, but give me one reason why I should get rid of my iPhone 4 when it does absolutely everything I need it to and more.

Don't take this as an Anti-MS post, or worse, a pro-Apple stance (will not be buying another Apple product), but what makes WP8 stand out other than its subjectively appealing OS?

I guess that would be same thing as this:

- Why buy a new GPU when this game looks fine now? I can still play it.
- Yes, but new one will make it look much better and improve your experience
- But will it add new features?
- No
- So I need to waste $400 just for slightly different look?
- Yes

smile.gif

In all seriousness, a lof of cool things can be done only in WP, recent example I found:

http://www.reddit.com/r/GetMotivated/comments/shls7/never_stop_improving_learn_foreign_words_the_easy/

I guess you won't know what you miss until you try it.

Windows Phone is not a good platform. Aside from a pretty UI amd fluid interface, the OS is extremely limited. I will be transitioning to Android in the near future.
