You act like it ISN'T okay. Remember that people use their devices differently. It sounds like Android is the best platform for you but that doesn't have any bearing on whether Windows Phone is a bad platform overall.

Right because locking down the search engine because it makes MS money is OK thumb.gif

Google search makes Google money, and Android is free, but you can still change the search engine. iOS is extremely locked down, but you can still change the search engine.

I'd disagree, anyway, you can make out like it's about my personal preference but locking you into something like that simply because it makes MS money (and doesn't have a shred of technical merit) is just low. It wouldn't put me off anyway because I'm fairly certain you could change that using hacks from XDA (and if I had one that's something Id' do immediately).

Sounds like the windows phone is similar to an android. Ive always thought if you own Mac computers get an IPhone.....if you own a PC get an android or WIndows phone i guess.....if you own both computers well i guess you have a dilemma then biggrin.gif

for compatibility reasons of course is what i mean.....

Have you used a Windows Phone for a week or more? There are tons of things that tie into Bing that are more than simple web searches. Since Google charges for integration to services other than search (and not just a little bit) it makes perfect sense that they would stay with Bing.

That's more information than RussianGrimmReaper posted to be honest. The only explanation give was "because it makes MS money" and that as a sole reason isn't ok. That makes more sense and I can understand better now tongue.gif

It's all right but I hope you realize that your response is typical and probably the answer to this article's question. People hear one thing, try the OS for 30 seconds, etc. and just make judgements. They take no time to look into anything themselves. I'm not saying the platform is for everyone as there will never be one for everyone. But it gets discounted so quickly and bad mouthed by people when most reviews rave about it.

I also know this happens with just about any product but it's sad for this one since Microsoft has really released an awesome product. I would rank it up there with MS Office and Windows 7 in terms of polished and powerful products.

In my case i don't like Android because of the excessive cutomization, ugly interface and upgrade difficuly between phones and operator.
I need a phone ,and it is not precisely a phone that i want to tweak 24 hours a day like a Forever alone geek.

Same can be said between a person who buys an Alienware and one who builds computers....

me if ms had said!ok here is the deal with window phone 8:we will have wp8 avail for all wp7.5 smartphone avail(respecting carrier odities)but we wont give it we ll sell it to you user,i would be getting a smartphone right away from ms ,cause i my book wp are better smartphone then the others.but not good enough to forgo the wp8 os!and getting another smartphone just to get the os?bha !where is the root of this thing so i can root my exhibit 2 4g and be done with this issue!i dont get why it is so hard for dev to understand people dont want all but some minimum are required, gpu acceleration is mandatory ,on android ,the linux 200 line of code tweak is mandatory,on ms the search by hour,24,day,last week, last month, last year, personalise is mandatory.and soon i suspect live tile style main screen will probably become mandatory!

yet all dev ,vendor, network ,fight tooth and nail against various stuff!best bet is to get a exhibit2 4g ,not the best but it does what you ask of it and is cheaply ppriced with lot of feature.with the t-mobile plan in walmart or online 30 data ,text 100 minute, you are covered ,just make sure you have the latest 3g simcard for free wifi calling and you are in business!(cause there are lot of cell blackhole even tho we wish it wasnt so,and often that mcdo full of kids is your best bet for you emrgency call ,and most often those dont have public phone

FFS just buy an iphone then. It's especially laughable that you're implying that every android phone requires 24 hour tweaking. rolleyes.gif
