My E1705 came in today OMG!

Thread Starter
I ran a super pi and did the 1m at 25.76. This thing blazes. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money for the upgraded C2D.

Nice

That's pretty good for a lappy
more than enough power yuo need

Err..why is CPUz messing up your speeds? The SuperPi times are good... seems like CPUz is a bit funky with your CPU.

CPUz is measuring the speeds with Speedstepping on. His CPU is running half the normal speed because the CPU is throttled back to decrease power consumption.

Yeah, it's Core 2 Duo.... it shows slow because of speedstep

Those laptop have powersaving technology which kicks in under light loads... preserving battery power and so on.

His SuperPi times are good for a lappy.

You guys are correct, it throttles back to save power. I intentionally posted it like that to see if you guys caught it or not. I tried to run clockgen on it to boost it up, but dell disables the pll's or something like that. Clockgen won't work at all.

Can't you just disable the speedstep in BIOS?

Be careful overclocking that thing.... temperature control in a laptop isn't reall that good... (small space, tiny fan)
