Hey guys just looking at doing my first water cooled rig and was just wondering how do you wire up your Rad fans to your fan controller.

In my build im looking at my top rad(xspc rx360) with 6x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x 25mm Fan - 1850 RPM, 3 bottom, 3 top push/pull
config. i will also have a 240rad at the bottom.

On the top Rad can you wire all 6 fans to one lead and wire it to your fan controller so one button will adjust all 6 fans?? Not to sure on what the norm is, Does it depend on the watt per channel on the fan controller header?? thanks for any feed back

What fan controller do you intend on using? Your going to need a 30w per channel if you want to run 6 fans off one channel, although its probably not recommended.

Why not get some Y splitters and run 2 from each channel instead, you will want to be able to power those GT's at their full RPM.

A 6 channel rheobus would be my recommendation HERE or HERE

Thanks toaad, If i do go with the y splitter option would it be wise to have a fan controller that will have a digital rpm read out so you can adjust all 6 fans to the same speed??

Perhaps a Lamptron FC5 V2? They offer 4 channels and 30watts per channel, and have digital output so you can see your RPM. You can also attach temp sensors if you like.

I use something like Phobya Y-Cable 3Pin Molex to 6x 3Pin Molex 60cm and connect it to a single port on fan controller

Most fan controllers these days have 30W+ per channel/ Knob so you can hook a bunch of most fans to one knob. AP-15s are at 0.08 amps per fan so multiplied by 12V that's less than 1W per fan. Theoretically you can plug 30 AP-15s in one knob.

Something you need to watch for is that the AP-15s have a startup current of .19 amps. While you could theoretically run 30 AP-15s on one channel, you'd burn out your fan controller when it tried to start them all up. That said, at .19 amps you could still run 13 AP-15s on one 30W channel.

Yes, you still need a 30+W per channel fan controller, but i find it cleaner than a Y splitter of multiple fans. I used velcro to mount 2 inside my case, run one cable to your controller, then run all the fans to this block. Just a thought.

Wiring XSPC RX360 RAD fans to a Fan Controller

I bought two of these because for $7, why not. First of all, these definitely move more air than the fans that came with my Cooler Master case. Furthermore, they move more air than my Cooler Master...

This was the only fan that would fit in the space I had in my case between a radiator and a waterblock/pump housing. Given that I had no alternatives, i was truly please with the sound (or absence...

I replaced a loud fan in my Cooler Master Elite 430 with this. The other fan moved about the same amount of air with a far louder, higher RPM (I assume) device. This fan has a cool-looking metal...

Mouse has tracking troubles on multi-coloured pads, If you has small-medium hands it is palm or claw grip mouse. For large handed people only claw, go and buy ec1 if you want to palm.

This is not the first time that I bought these fans, however in an effeort to try and shave some degrees off my load temps, I thought I would give them another go as I was impressed with their...
