Thanks for the replies and suggestions guys.
@ Ironman, I'm currently in the UK and my budget lies around £900-£1000
So in US dollars that'd be around $1,434 - $1,594 according to xe.com. thumb.gif

Keep the suggestions coming people! :DD

Edit: @Ironman Dammit Ironman!!! Now I'm extra indecisive! These Asrock motherboards look awesome. D:

Help meeee. frown.gif

Is that with or without the OS?

Without the OS you should be looking at something like this (gaming): 2500K & 680 (Click to show)
Part list permalink

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (£168.18 @ Scan.co.uk)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80 92.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£69.99 @ Dabs)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£109.99 @ Dabs)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£32.00 @ Maplin Electronics)
Hard Drive: Hitachi Deskstar 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£54.99 @ Dabs)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 680 2GB Video Card (£409.99 @ Dabs)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case (£34.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Power Supply: Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (£79.99 @ Dabs)
Optical Drive: Sony DDU1681S-0B DVD/CD Drive (£11.86 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £971.97
Power supply is enough for SLI 680s. thumb.gif

Oh and I just assumed this was a gaming rig, I might have been wrong. for a rendering rig you should get something similar to this: 2600K & 7950 (Click to show)
Part list permalink

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£236.60 @ Scan.co.uk)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80 92.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£69.99 @ Dabs)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£109.99 @ Dabs)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£32.00 @ Maplin Electronics)
Hard Drive: Hitachi Deskstar 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£54.99 @ Dabs)
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card (£333.35 @ Scan.co.uk)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case (£34.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Power Supply: Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (£79.99 @ Dabs)
Optical Drive: Sony DDU1681S-0B DVD/CD Drive (£11.86 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £963.75
Nvidia GPUs are actually better for rendering, or so i've heard. But I would only grab an Nvidia GPU over the new AMD GPUs if you were getting a 680 or waiting for the 670 release.

If you are not doing profession graphics, and want a gaming rig, I would suggest just grabbing the 2500K. I would only grab a 2600K if you are doing this professionally.

The asrock boards are great for overclocking and totally feature loaded. And I totally recommend the i7 2600k+ Radeon 7950 combo especially if you are thinking about future eyefinity (I am running a saphire 7950 at the moment although it has some catalyst driver issues they can be mitigated by reverting back to 11.8 driver version) thumb.gif

Hey Ironman. Firstly, thank you for the builds. Secondly, I can easily change those motherboards for Z68 Motherboards right? Because I really want that Ivy Bridge compatibility. tongue.gif
and lastly, I already have the H80 on my current rig...so I guess I'll be re-using that and I've also got an optical drive and hard drive. Haha.
About the editing, I'm looking to do it professionally...I'm also an avid gamer. biggrin.gif
Thanks Djkon for the heads up. wink.gif

well the Z77 IS an ivy chipset. tongue.gif

Ivy compatability comes from both P67 and Z68 as well, but I think you need a Gen3 board, Z77 is a native Ivy chipset.

Why so sold on Z68. P67 and Z77 is just as good. Just wondering.
All three of those motherboards are equally awsome. Every person you ask will have a different "favorite". Really, it's personal prefrence.
Get a I5 2500K if you do gaming. Look at the I7's if you get into heavy photo/video editing, encoding, ect. I7 offers no advange for gameing. Here is a article to help you pick out a CPU --> http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html
8Gb or 16Gb or RAM? Again, personal prefrence. If you keep your computer well optimised for games 8 Gb is all you need. If you like to run multiple virtual machines, or have certain vdieo editing software 16Gb is the better choice.
A H80 performs just well, if not worst than the big air coolers. If your going for a H80, make sure it's because you enjoy that it's lighter and quiter than it's big air equivalent. If you just want the best performance, a big air cooler would be a better bet.
Here is a good article to help you pick out a SSD --> http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-review-benchmark,3139.html
For the HDD, look at a WD Black, or a Spinpoint F3.

quieter? they looked pretty loud to me lol but yea i think ivy bridge is worth more to wait for now. and also ditch the WD Blacks. They arent bad but they just too overpriced rite now. a spinpoint f3 wud cost less and just a bit slower
