I've wondered too why the only fittings that retailers carry are the matte black and shining silver lines since appearance and customization is such a big part of building a loop...

Very cool about "creating" fittings in your finish.

I emailed the president of frozen CPU, asking whether they might be willing to carry the carbon black or just special order some. His quick reply was that they probably wouldn't carry them "due to the cost".

Huh? Are the carbon black more expensive to carry? Didn't understand that.

There might not be enough demand for companies to stock them. They wouldn't order one or two of each fitting. They would probably have to order 50+ of each. This was the answer I received when I asked PPCs if they could place a custom order for me.

Update. I sent an email a week ago with my proposed "order", and followed it with another yesterday after no hearing from them. Still waiting on response. It's frustrating not to get any type of email response, or even a confirmation that they got mine.

(sic)...update us. were you successful in placing an order?

Their is an Australian shop called thekoolroom that shows they have some of these available. Has anyone ordered from this place before? Good experience or bad?

Sorry man. I emailed them in early April and received a response just a few days ago... I decided to just stick with the matte black. Plus I noticed that they were charging more per item compared to the matte black version I could get from PPCs.

I placed a $300 fitting order on PPCs Friday, received it yesterday! biggrin.gif

According to Gary at Sidewinder they expect orders of around 500+ not 50+ from retailers. That is a huge inventory cost burden on these small e-tailers for something that might not sell. Silver and Matte Black are the two most popular so they can justify the cost. Realize that while we all think water cooling is awesome the vast majority of people use air, and even with the group here that does WC, only a fraction of us use compression due to cost. So you are talking about a small segment, of a small segment, of a small segment to stock unique colors of compression fittings. Doesn't make good business sense unless they can get the inventory turn.

Too bad Bitspower doesn't set up some type of drop ship system with e-tailers here in the states or a distribution house to allow all the good places to sell them without significant inventory burden.

When I placed my order with Bitspower, I had trouble getting through by email as well, until I figured out that you need to use their on-website contact form. For whatever reason, that was the only way I was able to contact them.
