Installing H100 on X79 motherboard...

hey guys will my h100 fit on x79 motherboards?i am planning to buy the EVGA classfield x79 board and i need to know..do i need a special socket or something?or just install it manually?

Yes it will fit. It comes with everything needed to make it fit in the box thumb.gif

As far as I know, he means that the H100 comes with everything you need for installing it on the mobo.

Hmm you sure?when i opened my H100 i haven't seen any sockets only the AMD ones...

yes it fits.

You don't even need the bracket that comes with the h100. you Just screw in the 4 screws and mount the heatsink. In the video above he messes up the first time and he realizes he doesn't need the bracket installed on the back of the motherboard with lga2011 motherboards

Googled it, just to make sure, and yes, the H100 supports the LGA 2011 socket, which is the one on X79 boards, and according to the corsair website there is a "multi-platform mounting adapter" that you use to mount your H100.

EDIT: Started my post before the video, posted afterwards, so IDK if this has any point wink.gif
