Those analogies are bad because the game is not given to you for free. You have to buy it to play it.

Burger King: Have It Your Way!
Customer: I want a Whopper with lettuce, tomato and extra pickles, hold the sauce. My way!
Burger King: Sure thing boss! That will be 10 dollars total.

Do you complain about companies releasing Steam copies of classic games that run at 30 FPS and only run at sub-hd resolutions? Is it about the game or the graphics?
@Doom Yes, I do. I don't normally buy old games on Steam or other services because it won't support 'today's standards.' I bought Robin Hood, Legend of Sherwood thinking it was slightly worked-on so my monitor didn't have it distorted and at a low resolution (So it was pixelated like hell, enough that I couldn't read the text) and ran at 16-22fps.
I was excited for Dark Souls on PC but this will be ridiculous if capped at 30fps and stuck at 1280x720. I hope the team decides and works on the port to have it uncapped (With Vsync of course) and be able to go native 800x600 - 1920x1200 resolutions.

Again this would be an awful game to play with m/kb. People saying they won't play this because of it obviously have no idea how this game plays in which case I'm not sure why your posting in the thread anyway. It'd be like playing Ninja Gaiden without a controller it just doesn't work.

Xenoblade looks like a turd in comparison to Final Fantasy XIII, but most fans of the JRPG genre agree that its gameplay is far superior thus making the game fun to play regardless of what it looks like.
I dont want to install Dark Souls to see what it looks like at 1080p/60fps, I want install it so I can play it and enjoy the gameplay.

It's not about graphics, it's about the fact by buying the game, I'd be supporting such a half-assed effort. I'd basically be saying "It's okay for you to put little effort into this port. My standards aren't high, so I'll gladly fork over my cash for it!"

I absolutely do not feel that way about any game, which is why I won't be buying it after all

You're not going to support a good game because they only took a little extra time to make it for us and not a ton? Seriously I wonder how good a game would have to be for a PC player to play it if it was capped at 30 fps @ 720p.

I'm starting to think half the PC community has lost touch with what actually makes games good.

I'm still buying this, it may not be pretty but I hope this is successful enough that From Software/ Bandai Namco will look at bringing future games to PC. "Cough" Armored Core pweeease From Software?

I would be more critical about this if they spent a year on the port but this happened so quick. I'm sure they have plans for a Dark Souls sequel so if they took longer for porting they might as well work on the Sequel. I'm just some guy thought so all of this could be false but it seems plausible.

I'll get it as long as it's a Hor + game at 1080p and the AI pathing doesn't cause extreme framerate issues like it did in the console versions, plus the average framerate in general should be significantly better. People forget it could also slow down in many other areas, but nowhere near as extreme as the notorious areas.

I don't mind GFWL, and I also planned on using my Wireless 360 Made for Windows gamepad.

However, If the framerate's for some reason capped at 30 i'm guaranteed not to buy it.

I'm not sure how I feel about RPS after reading a couple other articles. Mainly, the Gametrailers.com one.
Quote:
The short demo was played with an Xbox 360 controller in hand. They said keyboard and mouse would be supported, but a gamepad would still be the preferred way to play.

Here's the full article.

I figured paying for the sandwich was implied. thumb.gif That's an expensive whopper though!

Everyone is going to have different views upon what is important. 30 fps and 720p is unacceptable to other people and acceptable to others. As a customer, they have the discretion to purchase or not purchase a game.

The part that infuriates me the most is that we are not respected as PC consumers. If we were respected by Namco/Bandai, we'd be getting basic features at the least. A little respect goes a long way...
