AND LOL AT HARDCORE GAME EVER.
They said the same about Demon Souls. Demon Souls was so easy. If you bought Soul Shot, you didn't even have to try. I bought Soul Shot and it was a "IWin" button, you could obtain it an hour into the game or less, just by buying it from the magic NPC. It could be used to defeat any boss in the game.
One of the coolest bosses in the game, a Giant freaking Dragon, swimming in Hot Lava, was a freaking Quick Time Event boss.
The game was massively over-hyped as difficult. For a console game, sure, but for a PC game, or an old PS1 / PS2 game, no.
One of the only things that made the game "hard" was the crappy controls. and delayed response.
You click "Dodge"
0.5ms later you dodge.
Same with alot of controls. Basically, if you just adjusted your dodging by the stupid controller delay, you could win anything. The game was so easy!
And Dark Souls is even easier!
The reason I -want- to play this game, is because it has wonderful atmosphere and pretty fun gameplay at times. Not because it's hard, it's not, they over-hype that aspect.

You are seriously ridiculous. What PC games are hard nowadays at all? Have you not figured out yet that 90% of the games out today are avaible on both PC and console? Games have never been harder on PC or consoles and there have been lots of difficult games released for both. Trying to gauge it any other way is ridiculous.

Dark/Demons Souls are most definitely two of the hardest games to come out this generation. Ninja Gaiden hard. Anyone saying otherwise is not being truthful with you.

And while you are right about the soul shot making the game easier there is no way you would knw about it on your first playthrough without having a guide sitting right next to you so your point is kind of moot.

yep, that deal was amazing, I got that too biggrin.gif

as long as it looks good, and is optimized I plan on getting this, they better price it like $40 or so though since by the time it comes out the game will be pretty old. Sorta like Alan Wake, and it sold really well because of that.

No way I would know about it?

In the Nexus, the area where you spend a great deal of time, a NPC will sell it to you for like 1000 souls. Getting 1000 souls takes like less than a minute. My first time around, yes. I got Soul Shot, and was able to beat pretty much every boss with it, except a few, and it didn't require me to do anything but lock on, dodge, hit soul shot / recovery item for MP. I could do that the entire fight if I wanted to.

Soul Shot is the first skill you can really even learn.

I've been calling it the wrong name, it's been awhile, just looked it up. I mean "Soul Arrow" Dunno why I kept saying Soul Shot. But yes, you can get Soul Arrow almost right out of the tutorial. And then spam it with no problem, no matter what class you chose.

I was having trouble getting the timing right with some enemies occasionally, so I pulled out Soul Arrow and killed them before they could get close. Just spammed it.

I dunno about Dark Souls, but most people tell me it's easier, and if it's easier than that, well, yeah.

And older console gamers were indeed harder. But I'm talking about this generation seems to think these are the hardest games ever.

recently something occured and my GFWL was erased and had to restart all disk based game progress. Fortunately I had the same games played on another computer. Is there a way to copy GFWL profile from one PC to another? I dont mean the online profile that is downloaded. Do you just copy the Xlive directory? Because if there isnt, GFWL is one of the scariest things to come out in a while. Steam at leasts supports easy transfer of disk based save games and it supports cloud saves too.

Eg I play a game and complete the story at 50 %. Online profile just saves the achievements. But if something happens I have to restart the game from scratch.

I'm not sure that you can since the save files are encrypted based on your computer specs.

Yeap. Game saves are encrypted and therefore can't be used on any other PC, or if you change a piece of hardware, say, a new GPU, your old save will become invalid.

If you think souls arrow can beat all bosses in demons souls, you didnt get very far. Yes its op early on but useless later. Magic is kind of op.in terms of damage but typically clumsy and slow which makes it awkward to use. The only kind of effective magic in demons souls are firestorm and homing souls mass.
In dark souls magic is more op

Soul ray holds up fairly well, but you have to kill the boss of 3-1 to get it. Also if you find it easy, everything gets a ton harder for the second playthough.

You can't make a game so hard that people just get frustrated and give up before beating the first level. You need to give them a chance to learn how to play first. A game being too much harder then Demons Souls would actually be a bad thing.

My point was more that the fact he thinks soul arrow is op shows he didnt complete the game. Ya soul ray is ok but pretty much only if youre a pure magic class with all the magic enhancing items. And even then its not going to be too effective, cursed weapons seem like the way to go against bosses in demons
souls. Magic is way overpowered in dark souls against the final boss though. Chsm destroys him.

I kind of wish theyd take magic out of the game since the depth is in weapon based combat but its mostly useless in pvp (faith though-i really wish theyd make that more useless in pvp). Beyond the weapon enchants that is

Wait a second, you're arguing that Demon's Souls is easy because you took the easiest path through it?

I platinumed it, after rolling two characters one magic and one melee and the game is still the hardest thing this gen, maybe aside from Ninja Gaiden 2 on MN if only because it was so cheap.

Haven't mustered up the gusto to go after Dark Souls yet.
