That's because once again, the internet is full of sheep that have somehow managed to weild pitchforks and have grasped just enough of the English languange to scream "rabble rabble rabble" at the top of their lungs because apparently everything you read on the internet is true.
Here is why people should try using their brains, instead of letting media outlets use their brains to get hits on their websites and get paid:

It's not locked at 720p. The art assets aren't being redone thats all. Since its using GFWL (bleh) it HAS to have all common resolution settings. This is all thanks to mistranslation.

The game will HAVE to have:
1.5 Support Multiple Aspect Ratios and Resolutions
Requirement
The game must support at least the following aspect ratios and associated screen resolutions:
4:3 normal (800*600 or 1024*768)
16:9 widescreen (1280*720)
16:10 widescreen (1152*720 or 1680*1050 or 800*480)
C'mon people, there's standards these days. And do you really think From Software is that insane? Likely Namco will also enforce 1920x1080 resolution options as well.
Stop feeding into hyped up auto-translated mixed messages.
also, as I have alluded to many times in this thread:

At the moment everyone seems to be getting worked up over what is essentially one line of text, translated from Japanese. Until we get more info we really shouldn't be getting this worked up. They've seen all this feedback about the graphics options yet we may be complaining about a problem that doesn't exist.
Now that we've aired our concerns we should wait for an official word on the matter before blowing up into mass hysteria. IF it turns out that they've locked the FPS and its using GFWL, and the keyboard controls are awful THEN let's get the pitchforks. For now, let's see what the next announcement brings us.
For one, we do know:
a)It's gonna have more than one resolution setting, because their first choice of platform (GFWL) requires them to and that's probably one of the first things they did before making more content in the porting process.
b)It's gonna have keyboard and mouse controls, they've said "minimal" keyboard controls so we don't know the extent but again, its all translated from japanese so context could be lost.
c)I'd say neither them, nor Namco are complete morons, I stand to be corrected by them, and will join the pitch fork mob if it comes to fruition they've made some sort of botched monstrosity of a product, but until that time I'm gonna wait for more info.
Logic + Interest in knowing the facts >>>>>> "Rabble rabble rabble".
Those resolution options are terrible. Better be 1920 x 1200 available and whatnot.

Maybe youre just a skilled gamer. But if you honestly found souls arrow the easiest way to win then i bet you never upgraded your weapon or used weqpon enchants.
I feel really bad if being able to time dodges is considered being skilled. I'm sorry, Demon Souls was not hard. I beat the Dragon Boss and quit because the game had just become to easy. I went to the next area and progressed abit, before my character glitched into the ground, couldn't move, and I died. I just kind of lost interest there, because everything was so easy.
I don't consider being able to time dodges, blocks, and attacks "skilled".
I'd feel embarrassed calling myself skilled next to the players of old who make me look like a noob at everything.

If you could even had a tiny brain you could understand enemy behavior. Now I haven't played Dark Souls, but I do hear conflicting opinions on it. Some say it's easier. Same say it's harder. No definite opinion.
But if it's easier...then yikes. Sure, maybe to this generation of gamers, Demon Souls is "really tough and hardcore", but it didn't seem that way to me. I'm not a super old gamer either, I'm 22, and to me, Demon Souls just seemed to be about average difficultly.
Now, something like Devil May Cry on higher difficulties...yes, that was difficult.
