[Rock, Paper, Shotgun] Dark Souls PC: Prepare To Sigh - Page 6

I think the graphics on the PS3 version are already pretty damn good. Would/could they be better on PC? You bet. And that would only make sense to up the graphics for this game so people with high end PCs can run this puppy to the max. If it is a straight port, I doubt I will buy this. Thought I read something about a little extra content? I have no problems playing this game with a controller, it actually plays quite well I think with a controller.

It'll get mediocre reviews, not enough people will buy it, and then they'll blame piracy...

Frankly, I'll consider anything we get beyond a straight port to be bonus. And now they've said that they are aware of the GFWL issue so that might go away...
I really don't care for anything posted by RPS. They're kind of sensationalists.

I don't see why everyone is so upset. We're getting the game on PC.. I thought that's what we wanted? I signed the petition to get Dark Souls on PC because I've heard amazing things about it and it looks like a great game, not because I wanted to see the developers bend over backwards for PC gamers. This isn't a game that is in the middle of development. It has already been made and they had no plans of even bringing it over to PC at first.. They're taking the time to even port the game and I'm grateful for that fact, because otherwise, I wouldn't get to play the game.

This would be an awful game to play with m/kb actually. In fact I think it'd be impossible to port Dark Souls controls to kb/m.

It's one of the few games where the controls are set up in a way that a pad is just better.

Also even if the resolution/frame rate concerns are true there's no doubt someone will find out how to change it within a couple of days of release. I have a hard time believing the resolution thing though considering that takes like zero effort to implement.

And again please look up Dark Souls controls if you really are that broken up about kb/m.

I'm very glad they are bringing this game to PC and i can live with GFWL but can't change resolution?(well that sucks :/) no proper mouse + keyboard support?(well, i hope it's still somewhat playable) locked at 30 fps?(OH COME ON!!!, ANOTHER L.A NOIRE?)

And then people will call us whiners for wanting at least a decent port, then they will blame piracy...I hope this turns out ok but it's not looking good.

The 30FPS thing is the only part that bothers me but I remember when I bought Alice and fired it up and it wouldn't go above 30FPS. Twenty second good search later I found an ini fix and did it that way.

Sure it's not conveniant but that's PC gaming.

Just be glad a PC version is coming out at all.

It's a straight port so that explains the lack of graphics settings. All the game needs is AA/AF anyway which can easily be done through CCC/NVCP. That and 60 fps.

EDIT: Scratch that. Locked at 30 fps? Wow.

No day 1 buy then. I'll wait until someone figures out how to unlock it or just not buy it at all.

I'm glad Namco took note of PC gamers wanting a port, but this is just not how it's done. Atleast give us 60 fps.

You are 100% right my friend, i did the same for Star wars the force unleashed which is locked at 30 fps and also with L.A Noire but it didn't work too good with L.A Noire, let's hope there will be a way to unlock the framerate.

Truth right here. Quite common now for PC to be the scapegoat for a failing game.

Such a shame, I was really looking forward to this game, but by the looks of it, it might just be another lazy console port. If they're just going to be lazy about porting it, then they shouldn't even bother at all. I much rather have them take their time and actually optimize the game for the PC. I don't want to see "PRESS START to begin" on the main menu.
