Actually it's Asus , not Asrock. Asrock over here wasn't wellknown enough and very rare to find it here too.
Choosing a GA-Z77X-UD3H vs Asus P8Z77V-LX is due to the price and performance .Only $10 difference but gigabyte does have a higher phase of 12 while asus only offer 4 phase.I am doubting the price on Gigabyte vs performance is so much greater than Asus.Asus only offer 4 phase and a single pcie slot CF 4x while GA-Z77X-UD3H allow CF and SLI running 8x.The price is just $10 extra.
How well does a gigabyte build vs asus ? RMA or quality > quantity ?
Either way , most important is whether a 4 phase able to push up to 4.2Ghz-4.5Ghz stable for 3 hours gaming with stock Vcore. If it does , I'll just go for a budget choice since I dont plan on SLI/CF and extra phase is only for hardcore OC.

Oh, I thought it was GB vs Asus at first, but when back and thought you were really considering the ASRock after... guess I was right first.

Asus is well known for being extremely good quality, but so is GB. You really can't go wrong with either. I ran an old GB AM2+ board... forget the model, cheapo and it worked fine with no OC. Then my GA-MA785G-UD3H and OC'd a 1090T to 3.8 before knowing much about VRM's... Once I learned I quickly dropped it back to stock to be sure. It ran fine for months... but I just couldn't afford to replace it if it blew. That was a 4+1 unsinked board, and not the best of quality 4+1 either. Yet it worked for months. Now I'm on a 4+2 Asus but its a good quality 4+2 and I'm not gonna be OCing this over 4 gigglehurtz anyway so it won't matter.

Both boards are good, but I agree with you, I'd go with the GB between the 2 as well. But where do you shop at? as we might be able to find a completely diff board in the same price range or less, though I know little of Intels so I'd have to do some quick research.
