Just because people OC RAM doesn't mean it's worth it. There is no real world benefit to running RAM that high.

I am sure you can find cheaper RAM. I've seen 8gb 1600 MHz as low as $35.

Not anymore, some of the lower brands will be ~$40 and the better brands(Corsair being the cheapest) will be ~$45. I mean, the OP should be looking for 1600MHz CL9 @1.5V or lower. The Samsung ram makes up for the high timings due to it's overclocking potential.

Also, the Samsung ram is very low (size) so it will fit under any CPU cooler.

I understand that, but why buy a feature you will never need?

That's what I wonder. I probably won't be overclocking my memory, so do I need OC friendly memory? I'm sure there is something that performs better at stock settings than this memory. No?

Woohoo, SeaSonic X750 Gold on NewEgg for $120 shipped. Sweet deal. First piece ordered.
Haha- Yea, I almost bought another one, but I really want the x850 which never seems to go on sale. The 750 goes on sale once every 3 months or so.

Seeing as how IB i5 is just barely an upgrade over SB i5, do you think it wise for me to get an SB-E 3820? Or maybe even an IB 3770K It's capable of more than enough overclocking for someone like me, who isn't a big time overclocker. It would basically add $182 to the grand total of my build.

i5-3570K + ASRock Z77 Extreme4 + Samsung 8GB = $405
i7-3770K + ASRock Z77 Extreme4 + Samsung 8GB = $506
i7-3820 + ASRock X79 Extreme4 + Samsung 16GB = $587

What do you think? Is the performance increase worth it? Is the OC'ability worth it? Socket 2011 lifetime worth it?
