Cheapest 24 inch monitor worth buying?

Thread Starter
I really need to get new monitor, this 17" 1280x1024 is getting old...
I need the cheapest monitor possible that isn't so bad it's not worth buying. I definitely can't spend more than $150 (it's going to take me at least another month or 2 to save up even that much)
-1080p, of course
-around 24" or 23". I guess I can go for 22" if I have to.
-I'm ok with refurbished or used if it's a reputable seller.
-primary use is gaming web browsing/etc.
-I would like to avoid Newegg unless it's significantly cheaper, (this is why) I'm kinda thinking about waiting for an open box one to get in stock.

So which monitors should I be looking at and which should I definitely not be looking at?

Is this a good or at least decent monitor? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009306
My brother-in-law has a 22" monitor and it is a lot bigger than I thought it was (I thought his was a 24" til I measured) so 21.5" will be fine for me, and it's dirt cheap compared to all other 1080p monitors right now on sale.

Hmmm, no DVI on that one for $117 so I would have to get a mini hdmi to hdmi or dvi to hdmi adapter and an hdmi cable, so it would be almost as much as the other ones anyways.
Which out of those 2 $135 ones is better? Or maybe one of these? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006652+40000020+4016+600012673+600026365+4017&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=20&description=&hisInDesc=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc=

I would like to state that newegg is an awesome company, and if they messed up once, that doesnt mean they mess up alot. i've been dealing with newegg for 2 years (i know its not a long time) but i do get tons of orders of whole computer parts every now and then and i never seen anything bad from them. i would like to say that if they mess up alot that means alot of people would be avoiding them.

lets go back to subject - i was in your situation around a week ago where i wanted to buy the cheapest 23/24 inch monitor. around 6 months ago newegg had awesome new 24 inch monitors go for 109 bucks free shipping and no tax for my state, i wished this deal would be back but its been a while and it didnt. so i ended up looking for monitors here and there for a while. tigerdirect monitors look like a great deal and i was going to buy them, but when it came to buying out the monitors they added tax and shipping and i ended up paying something like ~ 157 dollars for a 23/24 inch monitor, i canceled the order and went to newegg. i got myself a refurbished 23 inch monitor for 129.99 free shipping and no tax and saved my self a few bucks smile.gif

this is the monitor i have bought and it is just great. smile.gif http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824228030

Like I said on the other thread, it's not that I think they're going to mess up again, it's the way they handled it.
I don't WANT to buy anything from them because of it, but tbh I'm not in a financial situation where I can turn down a better deal because it it.

I think I'm going to just get that Acer 21.5" that's on sale (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009306) unless someone tells me they have that monitor and it sucks. I have $85 and I'm going to borrow $50 from my sister so anything more than $135 including the electronic waste fee and tax is too much, unless I save up for another month or 2.

Edit: just bought it. Anything will be a huge improvement over my current monitor biggrin.gif
