Help me build a WC Kit!

Thread Starter
Well I'm going to be new to the WC scene, So I would like to get the help from the WCing experts on OCN. This will be my first time watercooling, so I need to know everything I need to know about watercooling, and would love some input on what to get to fully get started (Everything!) w/ Link if possible.

No GPU. CPU loop Only for now. Prefer 360 Res. But I can do 240 if 360 is not necessary.

Prefer the price to be low as possible but still achieving high cooling (Price-performance-ratio).Let's say under $250 (Unless I have to push a bit more, I can do max $300 with Case.)

Edit: What would be better? Push/Pull set-up or Push(Or is it Pull?) Setup?

Thanks!

I'm a first time water cooler too, and I did a lot of reading in this thread. I wound up buying a RASA 750 RX240 kit. I haven't actually set up anything since I'm moving my rig to a new case and sleeving a PSU for it as well, but there are a lot of good benefits of the XSPC kits. Their newer Raystorm kits are even better than the RASA kits, having a better pump, block, and compression fittings instead of clamps for the hoses.

I'd check out that thread, as well as browse YouTube for video reviews of it to get an idea of the pros and cons. EK is another brand that is supposed to be good. smile.gif

EDIT: One major thing not so hot about the RASA kits is the supplied tubing. I went with Primochill instead due to less kinking and plasticizer issues.

RX360 if your going to be running pull only
EX360 if your going to be running push/pull

Raystorm CPU block

MCP35X Pump with Tank res

Insert tubing and fittings of choice and your off to the races.

Yate Loon fans if you want cheap,
Scythe Gentle typhoon for higher quality more expensive fan

Side note: GPU water cooling is so much more effective if your after taming noise because typically under load GPU sounds about 4x louder than CPU

Edit: I am also fairly new I did my first WC build a few months back and I went with the RS360 kit, it works okay, but the parts are mid range thats why the kit is so cheap. The pump can max handle single GPU, CPU, 2 rads. And the rasa block preforms alright but it has very high restriction and could cause problems later on.
