hi i am building a new rig in couple months i have the money now but i am waiting till the 7870 price settles down due to 7970 and 680 hype going on.The rig would be designed for gaming but not so much as i am more interested in applications like adobe photoshop cs5,3ds studio max, autodesk maya, blender(which i am currently running quite well on pentium 4 proc with 950 gma) but most importantly zbrush as i want to make 3d moddeling and animation my proffesion someday maybe even pixar:).so the question i am wondering is XFX R7870 Black Edition better than msi twinfrozr 7870 oc in terms of raw performance. As i saw earlier on msi twinfrozr 7870 oc has Core Clock Speed(MHz) 1050 and Memory Clock Speed(MHz) 4800 while XFX R7870 Black Edition has 1,050MHz/5,000MHz.
Is memory clock of 200 mhz higher on xfx really a dealbreaker over msi, because i really like msi primarily because of the feature that it has MILITARY GRADE III componets.I think that is impressive i imagine it will last a good 5 years on almost any clock.Plus if anybody knows a location where Pixar Marionette software can be obtained(i know it is a company secret i am just asking:D) i would be very grateful and please dont recommend Renderman because it is rubbish.Sorry for the ultra long post it is my first post ever.

For Daily stable OC, I use 1275/1450 1.30volt and for safest daily stable OC I use 1200/1450 with default voltage thumb.gif

Nice i know a guy who has almos the same values however i have changed my mind i will wait till the msi hawk 7870 arrives and then compare it with twinfrozr.I have come to a conclusion that msi is far more superior than xfx their core clocks are the same which is most important and a 200 mhz memoryclock is only 1 fps difference as i heard.i will wait for hawk because it will have twinfrozr IV and gpu reactor in the back which alows 88percent stability and heat monitoring. Ps:tnx for your quick reply
