Subwoofer to match with BX5a - Page 2

So I need to connect the speakers in parallel and cant use the crossover of the sub? well that sucks.

so I need something like this:
TRS to 2 RCA - http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Stereo-design-accomodates-smartphone/dp/B004YEFLGQ/ref=sr_1_6?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1325494595&sr=1-6
and another 3.5 mm splitter - http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Speaker-and-Headphone-Splitter/dp/B000067RC4/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336149717&sr=1-8

then connect:
Laptop - > splitter (1) - > TRS to 2 RCA - > F12
(1) - > splitter (2) - > Left BX5a
(2) - > Right BX51

any specific things i need to consider in terms of mono/stereo splitter to make sure I actually hear both channels?

You can still use the crossover on the sub in a way. Basically you will just be choosing up to what frequency the sub will play, but no matter what the Bx5a will always have full range output.

You also need something like this to have both channels playing on the sub. http://www.amazon.com/RCA-AH25-Y-Adaptor-Cable/dp/B00005T3G9/ref=pd_sim_e_8

This might be handy too. That way you won't have two splitters. There are XLR ones too.
