I wasn't comparing the stock vs stock in my post.

If you look at the first graph - it's Sapphire HD 7970 3GB Crossfired @ 1075 MHz and the last graph of Palit JetStream GTX 680 4GB SLI @ stock 1006 MHz.

On the dual GPU front we've got the HD 6990 which continues to be one of the fastest single GPU cards along with the HD 7970 in CrossFire and the same setup overclocked in Crossfire at over 1000MHz on the core.

Before we quickly get into the testing side of things you can see our GPU-Z screenshot below that gives us a run down on the cards we're dealing with today. As we mentioned in our standalone review, the 4GB variant of the Palit JetStream GTX 680 comes in at just the reference clock speeds.

So my previous post about TweakTown benches was correct.

Side note: They stated the 6990 as the fastest single GPU card when they were wrong, it's the fastest DUAL GPU card.

^this!

The Cayman XT GPU is not powerful enough to take advantage of the extra 1GB and the 384 bit bus

Oh - side note - More confirmation from EVGAJacob on the EVGA website that the EVGA GTX FTW 4GB card is coming in mid-MAY.

Source - GTX FTW & FTW 4GB Version Release Date?

This particular thread may need to be moved to the Hardware News section on OCN.

Ya, now it's confirmed it's not a rumor and it isn't unconfirmed.

Well if only Nvidia could put out some more 680's cripes. Thanks though. Glad to know they are out. Kind of bogus that EVGA is limiting 1 per household.

I had a tough time getting a reference 680 in the first week. This I imagine will be far more difficult.

Are you maxing out your vram? I am almost considering 7970s ; however I don't know what can be overclocked farther, a non reference 680 or non reference 7970. At least some 7970s are in stock.
