Mod the Yate Loon Led Fans

Good afternoon guys.

I have 3 of this fans.

This are the yate loon 120mm blue led fans.
I want to power on/off the leds. How can i may do this?

If i cut the wires that goes directly to the leds from the 3 pin power, and then connect them directly to the switch it may work ?
Or i need a resistor in the middle, because i think the power for the leds, are the rail of 12V, and if each led works at 3V. --> 3v * 4 = 12V

So, if i need a resistor in the middle, what are the oms(voltage) of the resistor ?

Can someone help me? rolleyes.gif

If each LED draws 3v, and if there are four in series, you do not need a resistor.

I don't know if they are connected in serie or in paralel.

The cables connected to the led's legs are solded on the pcb of the fan motor.
