whats the best gaming antivirus software - Page 3

AVG works fine for me.

Panda Cloud is another, and while it is a good AV, there aren't too many settings you can change.

What ever anti-virus you go with, i personally tag along malwarebytes, spybot (not with the real time protection enabled), hitman pro (another malware scanner), and of course ccleaner to clean registry and temp files.

This is really not as big of a deal as youre making it out to be. Just use any of the mentioned AVs, do a scan with whatever scanner you choose in whatever interval you choose, and game while not scanning. I don't see the issue. If you're spending 2 grand on a computer, I'm sure it will have no problems coming from an AV.

At the risk of being flamed I will say the newer versions of norton take very little resources and do a great job protecting, downside is you have to pay for it but if you had 2100 hundred into your rig another 60 will not kill you.

MSE and Malware. Never had any issues with it while gaming and everyday uses!

My vote is for Microsoft Security Essentials. Currently, mine is using 5 mb just sitting there, so not bad for when it isn't actively using itself.

i use nothing but superantispyware an that seems to do a hell of a job.

If you plan on building a $2100 rig, you sure as heck won't have to worry about something eating negligible CPU cycles.

If it brings you peace of mind, my sig rig has Microsoft Security Essentials installed, and my BF3 framerate averages around 90-100 (ultra textures, ultra mesh, high everything else, AA/AO/motion blur off, AF 16x, 1080p resolution).

As long as you don't have your antivirus regularly scheduled to do virus scans at the same time you're gaming, I'm sure you'll be fine with just about anything.

so i should go MSE what else should i combo with it? just use MSE alone?
Don't use two antivirus programs at once, they tend to conflict with each other and just mess up your day.

So yes, just use MSE and set and forget it. It autoupdates the definitions, so it doesn't really require maintenance.
