Good Temp Under clock?

post #1 of 6

I'm over all new to Overclocking and Under clocking. I know there are Voltage Levels. Too High and Too Low, And Temp levels.

I'm looking to under clock my CPU and Get less heat on Stock Cooler till I can get a new Heat Sink and Fans.

I have a AMD Phenom II X6 1045T

And a Tower with almost no Air Flow.

I need Less Heat and No Sound. tongue.gif

I'm looking at:

SilenX Effizio Thermistor EFX-12-15T 120mm Case Fan

and

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus Cooler

I was going to cut off the Thermistor and Wire to Fan Controller.

I kept the FSB at 200 and set my Multiplier lower. or Should I reverse that. And if I overclock my Ram 1333Mhz to 1600Mhz will that effect my CPU temp?

Thanks!

(I know it's a lot, I'm new.)

Update: got Multiplier at 7.5. 200 * 7.5 = 1.5Ghz)
CPU = 1.2 V
CPU/NB = 1.0 V
Ram = 1.605 V

Is that safe Voltages?

Ram is 1600Mhz from 1333Mhz

Idle - Little Use
CPU = 40C - 41C / 104F - 106F

Prime 95 (14 Mins) - 51C / 124F

(Update)
Blue Screened in middle of YouTube Video Full Screen.

Stepped Voltages up.

CPU: 1.25 V
CPU/NB: 1.05 V
RAM: 1.71 V

Yea. The SilenX I read move a good amount of air and are quiet.

High CFM numbers are only good for cases
High mm-h20 is better for heatsink

Will Two 120MM on the Heat sink and a 120MM in the front not work?

I don't overclock to 4.0 to 4.5Ghz.

I do about 3.5Ghz and Stop.
