Have you flown a serious flight sim? The so called "full real" battles in Warthunder still have lots of aids and unnecessary screen messages, then you have planes fighting in theaters they werent used in and on top of that planes fighting other planes from different era/theaters( for example tropicalized 109's flying on snow covered maps or Wildcats flying on the Eastern front) and so on.Take my advise and check those videos I posted, you cant do most of what is shown there in Warthunder. The damage model on Cliffs of Dover is the best there is out there, pair that with clickable cockpits, 1:1 map and complex engine management and then there is no comparison. Warthunder is not a simulator. It is good that it is attracting a lot of people to WW2 aircombat but is is definitely not for the serious flight simmer. I mean getting XP points for shooting down airplanes.. it doesnt get more "arcadey" than that.
Take this video for example : Edited by Royraiden - 7/26/13 at 3:37pm
I think I may have liked the second one better to be honest, in the beginning the Zeroes are real finicky but once you get a Corsair or Hellcat it gets real interesting. Also, landing on carriers is always a dicey experience
