Tri Sli on Z77

Thread Starter
I'm new to anything Intel past 775....

The Z77's only officially support 2 gpus, yet they have 3 PCIE slots( 2 of which are 3.0, the other being a 2.0 x4 only)

I want to run Tri 470s, especially knowing the x4 slot really won't have an impact on performance with a single 470. Plenty of bandwidth.

I'm getting a Sabertooth - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821

Can i do this?

Thanks in advanced, + rep will be given.

Even if you do manage get Tri-SLI to work on the board they will all only run at x4.

no NVIDIA wont allow you to do that. ATi however might let you do 3 way CF, some boards have the last 4x be PCI-E 3.0 too, which woudl take form the second 8x and make it 8x/4x/4x, otehr boards will take the last 4 from the PCH, and make it 8x/8x/4x NVIDIA however wont certify 3-way SLI.

you will need a board with a PLX bridge for Z77 and still support PCI-E 3.0:
G1 Sniper 3
P8Z77 WS Revolution
Z77 Extreme9.
