removing drive bays in antec case, and some help choosing bolts for mods

going to be mounting a 240 rad in the front of my antec 300 case, i will most likely be removing my HD bay completely and was wondering if i should be concerned with the case being less rigid afterwards. Also i am using very basic (and rather ugly) bolts for my window in my side panel and wondered if anyone had some references to some rather slick looking (black anodized if you know of any) screws/bolts that would bring some class to my window mod and not so "home depot made" thumb.gif

Removing the 3.5 drive rails and the 5.25 drive cage will take out some stability. With the side panels off its noticeable. With the back on its better and with both sides on it feels about the same as stock to me. If you leave the 5.25 bays in it may help some. Im guessing when you add the radiator in it will add some rigidity back.

thanks, i will be leaving the 5.25 bays in as im adding a fan controller and bay res. i was hoping after adding the rad that the case would stiffen. going to start crackin at it today in the morning. hope it goes well also...noticed you were rocking the three hundred for a bit in your rig profile...kudos!

any advice?? so this sounds really silly i know...but i have a 100mm that i want to mount a 120 fan to, im thinking if using a drill to "mesh" out the remaining acrylic to make it a 120 mm hole...does anyone think im going to suffer enough negative side effects from such a silly little hole? this is going to be where my 240 rad is and the the modified smaller hole will be on the intake fans. im hoping that i can hollow out the rest enough to make it look nice and not kill air flow thru rad. thanks in advance! thumb.gif
