HD 6770 probably defect?

Hello guys smile.gif

i have a very strange stuttering issue with my computer. When my frames drop down to ~98fps, ALL games start to stutter very bad, this continues to about ~65fps where it slowly gets fine again. But then when they drop down more to like 52, the stuttering starts again, in that range even more like almost unplayeable. What can that be? Also in games like league of legends or dota, my character model starts to walk way slower then and doesnt react that fast to mouseclicks and stuff, like i would have a latency of 200+ ..

I also noticed that when i surf some sites on firefox or google chrome, even the browser stutters while scrolling. Have to close it and start it over new again to solve that. This also happens in windows folders sometimes.

What i tried:
formated my HDD and download all the latest drivers from the official homepage
tested my RAM with memtest86 (no errors)
vsync - doesnt stutter on vsync with 60fps but i have a bad input lag, still when my frames go down to ~52fps the stuttering starts again

My system:
AMD Phenom II X4 955
ASUS M5A78L-LE
Sapphire Radeon HD6770 1GB
4GB Corsair Valueselect DDR3 1333 CL9
Samsung Spinpoint 1Terrabyte Sata 2 HD103SJ
Cougar A 450 Power Supply
Windows 7 Professional SP1
Monitor is a BenQ RL2240H connected with a VGA cable to DVI adapter cause my card has no VGA plug.

Please help me, i really enjoyed playing games. But now i dont have any fun anymore frown.gif

Could be an unstable overclock as well (CPU or GPU especially) that instead of crashing is instead giving you poor performance. Also, before RMA'ing it, I'd recommend trying a different driver version than the latest, especially with AMD, to ensure that it isn't a simple driver issue.

latency and FPS have nothing to do with one and another.
If firefox and stuff are lagging its your GFX driver.

Your frame rate and stuttering seems about right tho, Iv got a 6770 in my tv PC and it does that when ever the Vram runs out frame rate drops to 60s and lags like hell. Overclocking the memory to 1100mhz helped it a little bit but it still does it every now and again.

Iv been meaning to upgrade it but that PC is mainly used for movies and only games when Im having a LAN.

Well i have this problem for months now and tried many drivers, same problem on all of them. At first i thought i just had some virus stuff or so i formated my HDD but even that didnt helped frown.gif
In League of Legends there is also a feature to limit your fps, if i set them to 60, it stutters soo bad while moving the camera :/ I really need like 100+ frames there to make the game feel smooth. Cant remember having that issue back in november as i got my comp. Even counter strike 1.6 is stuttering and unsmooth and its an very old game...

Could be an issue with the GPU then. Have you tried the "smooth" setting in LoL rather than 60, etc?

Yes but it doesnt make a difference, when i have like 120 fps its all fine, when it goes down to ~99 or 98 it start stuttering pretty bad. And i have that issue in CS, WoW, Dota, LoL, BF3, CoD 4, Minecraft.
