BiGR Audio XL-BS1 headphones?

Thread Starter
These headphones came up on Slickdeals:

http://www.buy.com/prod/q/loc/101/220610367.html

for only $35. They claim to MSRP for $200. Googling didn't really have anything show up for them. Does anyone know if they are even worth trying out? Or if they are cheap headphones that they just originally priced at $200 to give the illusion of quality?

I checked their site, and this page:
http://bigraudio.com/about.html
makes it sound, to me, like they're trying for a fashion statement, or trying to just sound "hip" with good marketing.

But if they're actually good, don't everyone buy them out before I get a chance to place my order tongue.gif

Thanks for any help, guys biggrin.gif

It's actually 45 dollars now if it matters at all.

Looks way  too good to be true.

Yeah, I just noticed that it changed. But still, I'd pay $45 if anyone knows if they are as good, or better than, other cans at the same price range.

I don't really know what numbers for those specs constitute good quality, so I'm not sure :\

This is probably a better buy if you're looking for great cans on a budget.

But then again I really don't know anything about the brand. What I do seem to see is the brand marketing styles and products similar to the way Skull Candy does. redface.gif

The numbers they "claim"  don't mean too much, we would need a frequency response graph to get a better indication of how it sounds. The frequency response are actually better than that of a Denon D2000's.

I've heard a lot about those cans recently. Are they really that nice (for the price)? I've been using a Microsoft USB headset that I got for free, so I'm sure it would be better than what I've got. But I was just wondering if those would be comparable to whatever would be the best-valued pair in the $50-80 range. If so, I might get something like that (I don't want to spend too much money on headphones, they aren't *that* important to me).

And yeah, that's why I didn't just buy them. These ones look like they're going for style and marketing with a high price markup, and their "about us" page seems to confirm that. So I was looking to see if anyone here knew about them.

I see. Well, perhaps I'll just pass on these instead of being a guinea pig for what seems to be a new brand. Especially since the price went up a bit. I might have been more willing to try them out before, but I am a semi-broke college student, so I don't want to blow money on stuff that I'm not sure is good.

@TriplePlay

I don't own a pair as of yet but hope to soon, pending some component sales and other purchases more important in my little PC world. smile.gif

However, in many reviews they are supposedly comparable to $100 or more headphones. Take it with a grain of salt, but then again for less than $22 you probably won't find a better set of cans. tongue.gif

Usually when looking for headphones you want anything from 20hz - 25 kHz. The specs, if correct, look pretty nice. I would buy some just to try them out. if all and all they suck send them back, or sell them locally.

Alright, I'll probably just bite the inexpensive bullet and get them since I hear a fair amount of praise for them. I kind of need some, the faux leather on the pads of my MS headset are kind of disintegrating (well, the faux leather part is flaking off, but the fabric layer underneath is okay, just annoying to find bits of black stuff everywhere), plus it would be nice to have something sound at least a little nicer.

I'm not broke enough to worry about $22 ($28.49 after shipping) tongue.gif
