Trying To Choose Between Two Monitors

I primarily do gaming (BF3, WoW), and am looking to upgrade from my current 19" Hanns-G HW192D, which is now about six years old. After a good amount of research, I've narrowed it down to these two 23"s, the VH236H & the VH238H. I almost selected the 236, despite its apparent three year age (judging by the reviews, but not sure if that's considered "too old" of a buy), mainly due to the great reviews, but the 238 appears to be its LED-backlit brother. Unfortunately, the reviews for the 238 are not nearly as great, but overall decent, and initially, I was preferring an LED-backlit monitor. I'm sure I couldn't go wrong with either of these, as both are significant upgrades, but of course I'd like to know which is better. I've done a good bit of reading concerning gaming with LEDs vs without, etc, but still not too sure. Thank you in advance for any help/opinions.
