Thinking of getting this for my brother as he is still using a old Dell 207WFP from 2006, and he is starting to notice that it sucks now lol.. I bought him a HD 6850 for his bday had 2x xfx 5770 but sold them and got the HD 6850 with little money left over. Seen this one for $139 cad. Seemed kinda decent but unsure if anyone has any input have used this monitor. Missed on deal on ASUS VH236H from newegg.ca for $149 not in stock.. He plays mostly CSS and Now BF3 since he upgraded from my old HD 3870 that was dieing.. Only thing I do not like is only a 1 year warranty, which is kinda short with others 3 years...

I have 2 of the HP 2311x hooked up right now, I like them a lot. I mostly play SC2 and LoL though, both of which aren't first person shooters, so I don't really need any sort of high quality monitor (be it 120 hz or whatnot). I also haven't used a IPS or 120 Hz monitor though, but when compared to other monitors I've used (CCFL backlit, 21.5" 1080p), these are really nice. There's hardly any backlight bleed (I think I noticed some today when I had a black background and stood up and looked down, but it's very minimal). Each of mine had 1white pixel each, but now I don't remember where they were and haven't notice since I looked. Of course, YMMV on the dead pixels and backlight bleeding.

I'd say get one, unless your brother would really like 120 Hz for his first person shooters, but then those are pretty pricey.

Thx for reply..
He doesn't know anything about ips, 120Hz monitors.. He just wanted something cheap, looks nice no lagg or bluring causing him to die in game lol.. The dell is starting to act its age and with new vid on the way here the week. I'd like to get him a monitor also as a surprise. then some bday smacks =P.

I had a dead pixel on my cheap tv/monitor i use now. Was red right in the middle, so i flicked the screen and it went away.. pops with every few months for a hi and then bb..
