[PG] PC Market Refuses To Die, Rises Again In Q1. - Page 2

Since Sony ganked other OS from the PS3, I haven't bought one console game. I won't buy another console, or at least that's my sentiment as of right now.

Well if you look at how cheap components are compared to what they can do, there's no reason to not get a PC.
A four core can be had for under $100, 4GB's of ram for $25 bucks, mobo's for under 60$. The PC market is no longer what it used to be. 16 years ago people were forking out $1500 for a system that would just merely run Windows 95 and definitely struggle with W98.

A person can go to Walmart and buy a desktop for $300 today and if she or he already has a monitor, keyboard and mouse it could cost even less. And that system will probably last them 8-10 years if all they want to do is check FB, watch YT, use Gmail and do basic things.

It's definitely not a bad thing for consumers but I'm not sure that today the need for new hardware every year would be accepted by the basic consumer with all of the other capable devices that surround PC's. It would take a chunk out of the sales for sure. In hindsight it really was essential that hardware overcame software.

Seriously though, I've noticed Battlefield 3 is becoming swamped with that kind of player.

I'll wait until the next consoles come out. No doubt we'll see history repeat itself.

8 years since previous consoles were released: ZOMG, PC gaming is booming!

Newest consoles released: PC Gaming is dead

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Gaming PCs and gaming consoles will continue to merge until they are one in the same. The console generation after the XBOX 720/PS4 is when it will happen, IMO. AND MY WORD IS TRUTH!

I seriously doubt it, I don't know anyone who is overly excited about the next gen of consoles. Having a custom built gaming PC is far more exciting to everyone I meet and not anywhere near as out of reach as it used to be.

I agree. IMO the only company still providing a raw console experience is Nintendo. I don't see this changing with their Next Gen either.
