[Build Log] The Griffin mITX FT03-MINI powerhouse

I decided to downsize my home media server which ended up as a gaming console for my tv as well. Then i saw the Silverstone FT03-Mini and decided to go the mITX route so this will be an account of my build of an incredible powerhouse pc in a small tower that looks slick. Currently in the "awaiting shipment" phase but here's a break down of the components. Also have to wait for the FT03 to officially release April 25th. I hate waiting!!!

Why the H77 board? You're not going to be able to overclock with it.

H77 is not an overclocking chip. You need Z77 and those are not supposed to come out for a bit longer.

Also the FT03-mini will probably come with the 450 Watt PSU already so there is no need to buy another one.

And for the Z77, you'd want the Asus board cuz it's got a VRM daughter board to help you push the chip smile.gif

Good thing this was caught! I would amend my order ASAP if you plan to keep the 2500K.
You'll need a Z68 or Z77 board to be able to overclock.
And about the PSU, a 480w i don't think is going to cut it for a 560 448cores + overclocked 2500K, and the case only accepts SFX psu's and i don't think that there is any 600W+ SFX psu available.

That 450W will handle everything fine. People are running 680s with it.

Try this:
i5 2500K
Asus Z77 or ASRock Z77 mini ITX board.
for case the LIAN LI PC-Q08B or SILVERSTONE Sugo Series SST-SG08B Black
for PSU a Corsair HX650 AT LEAST! (ignore if you are getting the Sugo ^).
everything else is ok for the build.

I would never run a gtx 680 on a 450W no matter how good the PSU is, even less with a overclocked CPU, it will fry eventually.
