[Battle.net] Diablo III Open Beta Weekend! - Page 30

Yes, but I mean the area design. It feels like I'm being led in a certain path, especially in some areas which are essentially just corridors, even though they are visually "open". I suppose it might get better later, but PoE didn't force you to do things in a certain order, and act 2 gives you a good amount of choice in which order to do things.

That said, D3 is voiced and has a much better story (but it should be kept in mind that D3 is practically complete while PoE is still in beta).

I also found myself missing the PoE item modification mechanics (the gems). D3 does have something similar with salvaging and crafting, but it's meh. The gems are way cooler.

If PoE was voiced, had the gaps in quests filled in, and they finished working on the party and loot systems, as well as making the passive tree easier to navigate, it would be a better game than D3.

Lol.

...? No? In DIII there are monsters, sometimes rare packs of those monsters all in the same area. As you progress through the game the monsters change. They don't in PoE, at least not that much in the several hours of it that I played.

I see what you mean now and I respect your opinion. Keep in mind though that no one is making you do quests, especially after the game is released. After you make some progress, say in to nightmare or whatever, you can do what you like. Go back and do older quests over if you want, trade, craft, and eventually play PvP.

Pretty sure you feel on a linear path because the beta is so short. There just isn't that much you can do yet. As far as the PoE item system goes I really disliked that there wasn't a consistent currency. It is different though and I guess that is fine.

Fired it up, starting playing, and immediately thought "Yeah! Blizzard did a good job capturing the D2 magic again!"

After a few quests, I felt weird and unsettled. "Well, this is a hell of a lot like D2."

I'm, er, not playing for the time being.

i would like to set it to 5660 x 1920.

You can run diablo at your desktop resolution by selecting Full Window Mode in the Graphics Option settings. It works pretty well in eyefinity except for the map being on the far upper right corner and the inventory screen being over there as well.

I am still trying to determine if I prefer eyefinity or 1080p

I was under the impression that the beta would be longer than 3 hours of gameplay?

I guess I'll be buying it then tongue.gif I want to continue the story!

Played it, beat it, liked it. I see what I consider some definite improvements over D2. There are still things I have to figure out, but I'm generally pleased.

Yeah beat it with a group of 4 in ~20 minutes. Damn guys ran through it quick. It felt weird being back in the Diablo universe again. It was nice. I noticed alot of cameos, and alot of things from D2 in the backgrounds.

WHAT, its only a lvl, AHHHGGG

Can't even download it, going at 8 kb a sec, while steam can nearly get 1mb a sec. From what I've read though not worth it to leave over night just to play a level. Guess I'll have to wait for the demo to try this game out, no pre-orders to Blizzard after Starcraft 2.
