I am sure after this weekend they will have a better idea of the load the servers will see. You also have to understand there for thousands of people that want to play and since they can only play this wekeend they are all trying.. Once the game is released and everyone can play whenever they want.. There will be less demand at once.

The only logical statement there seems to be the fact that your internet connection isn't very good (which I will agree is definitely a flaw). But if you like the game and like the graphics then why not invest in the game? There is a reason why Blizzard games keep a higher price point over the years. So much time and effort go into these games. Blizzard is one of the few developers that still put massive amounts of effort into their games, that's why you only see a new game once in a blue moon (I'm not talking about expansions btw). I would even gladly pay $60 for the original Diablo, the game was too much fun not to pay up. Also, I beg to differ, I don't see how it is like DS3 other than the fact that they are both action rpgs. The Diablo franchise came before DS so how is it like it?

I just want to get back on and finish up these achievements! It would be cool if Blizzard added custom titles for characters/accounts, similar to what they did with D2 (duke, lord, baron, etc). But just getting on is a chore. I understand its a stress test. But how can we be expected to unlock all the achievements if we can't play?! lol

If SC2 is any example, cases like that will be rare.

I'd rather have the game be 100% online then have hackers and people editing the game. Almost everything is client side (rolls, spawns, map generation, characters, items), making it extremely hard to hack/edit things, and when you do they can track it with Warden resulting in a quick ban. It is almost impossible to pirate the game, SC2 still cannot be successfully pirated.

It's one of the big reasons why the game will be successful over games like Titan Quest. D3 would flop if the items and characters meant nothing. Titan Quest would of done much better if it's characters weren't so easy to edit.

Jep, I have no issue whatsoever with everything being online as long as it's as well made as Blizz does it. It gives me a feeling of certainty, hard to describe.

That's not true , SC2 was available on torrent sites straight after release and it's still is , thing is if the main part of the game is MP the only thing you can do with it is SP campaign or skirmish vs AI and this basically takes away the best part of the game.
Anyway what's wrong with this beta , i know it's a stress test but i wasted while Saturday trying to log in ...........
I was able to play few hours yesterday night but that's it.

Games graphics suck, and it feels like if you made WoW super simple and streamlined (which isnt bad). The angled view is super irritating especially when you kind of have to guess were to click and pathing works to some degree but having to constantly click or hold a button is annoying running around a dungeon. It would be nice if you could also move with WSAD instead of having to hold a modifier to not move. Its super annoying to do because its basically throwing out what every other game has done right.

I beat the demo in a few hours but I was already bored half way through. Its super easy and clicking bookshelves and breaking pots is a pretty lame way to pass time. I never even came close to dying except on the skeleton king cuz I was trying to get him to smash his own guys. Even then still beat it on first try.

What they should have done is let us play some difficult areas on a harder mode with most of our abilities and glyphs and such. The game being so easy and because of that boring makes me not care or want to buy it. No challenge no fun. Also seems like an endless grind with the point of improving numbers for no reason and then not balancing or even having pvp on launch? Really Blizzard? GW2 might be ok but D3 I might borrow from a friend and beat it once. I guess Blizzard had too much on its plate so it made D3 really crappy.

You cant customize your characters looks? If you cant thats pretty lame even if its just minor things like hair color.
Why is the minimap not where starcrafts is??!!??!?!? Why can't I customize my UI??!!?
Why do I have to hold a modifier to move when this games uses almost no keys at all? Why cant I bind WSAD?!!?!?? At least have the option.
Why isnt there an option to make walls and pillars not block your LoS ever so you can see terrain, even if enemies are in fog of war? Same reason why cant I rotate my camera? I used to hate capcom games b/c they never let u move your camera and it works for horror but not for grinding.

Could be wrong about a lot but I dont see a point in a non pvp balanced game.

Exactly.. My original statement is true. It's still impossible to pirate the game.

I don't consider playing against AI in skirmish pirating the game. tongue.gif

1/3 of the first act of a 4 act game on the easiest difficutly of 4 difficulties. You can't expect the beta to be very challenging. tongue.gif

Customizing character's appearance and UI? Diablo games have never been about that stuff. Armor covers up all characters anyway, this game is about leveling and getting better gear. D2 doesn't even have gender options, and it's still incredibly popular online.

Binding WASD in this game is absurd, no offense, you wouldn't get past nightmare difficulty. I'm assuming you have never played D1 and D2 because frankly your post sort of frustrates me. You don't understand what the game is about, so you aren't enjoying it.

$60 in Connecticut vs Rural Georgia is why.... thats more than i take home a day and i have a good job in the IT field with a 4 year degree... games are just too expensive, i always pick them up a few months after release at a discount but blizzard games take forever to drop in price and that along with the crappy internet here will keep me from playing it.

Well you can play the SP and they have a LAN patch that allows you to play StarCraft II Over Hamachi & Tunngle, so yes, they can play the MP, but not on the Official servers, much like most games.

Diablo III though, uses a MMO like protection method, which will require them to create a server emulator, like MMO's, and it will require alot of time and dedication from the scene to get it properly working.

Evne then, they can't play on Official servers, so no point.

And what, you don't take 60$ home a day? You have a degree and experience?

I dropped out of highschool and got my GED and I make 13$ an hour as a mail handler at the post office.

Jobs like yours will surely pay off alot in the future, but I'd suggest moving to a better state with more tech oriented jobs.

IT feels insulting to me that I'm making more money than someone who has a degree. tongue.gif
