While I like diablo 3 after playing the beta I don't believe that is a valid excuse. Normally, you can expect all feature in the previous game to be in the next game, but I'm guessing crafting system is to replace the runewords and cube.
My thought on beta:
While the crafting system is good and it does pretty much the same thing, it just don't sound as awesome as the runewords. Runeword is about using magical rune to in the right order to combine into a powerful spell that enhance a item. Crafting is about asking a blacksmith to forge a item for you. I don't think any one would think the latter sound more awesome.
The health globe didn't bother me as much I thought. Remember how we all rage about it.
The combat feels more exciting knowing that you can't just TP or pull the plug to avoid death like in D2.
While I actually like the art style it is still not dark enough, I know the Loeric Torture Chamber is darker according to the Blizzcon player but I never played that.
Not much to do when level up, definitely the worst part. While assigning attribute in D2 is pretty mindless, at least you have to do the clicking.
The shape of outside area is not random, hate it.
The levels uses Torchlight style generator which means you will see everything tile eventually, again bad.Edited by Erio - 4/22/12 at 4:58pm
