[Battle.net] Diablo III Open Beta Weekend! - Page 57

As a long time D2 veteran, with several 90+ level chars, hardcore PVPer, PKer, and just enjoying the game MFing,

the weekend i had playing the D3 beta was wonderful. It's truely "Diablo". Yeah, PVP will never be the same, but the game is DAMN good so far. It's very much Diablo.

I was gonna delete D3 since the beta weekend was over and tried to log in and I could still play. Apparently I had a closed Beta invite for a long time but since I use a different email for each Battle.net account I didnt even know ROFL.

Doesnt really matter though as the beta is so short and there is nothing to do unless you really wanted to play every class...

Got my girlfriend to try out the game with me this past weekend. She played on her macbook pro and it ran pretty well given it only had an HD3000(@low settings). She wants to buy a copy now, hahah!

If she really buys the game I'm thinking of getting a laptop so we can just have a mini lan at her house. I want to play guild wars 2 as well so it got me thinking if HD4000 would be sufficient to run both games at a fairly high res. Or should I get a lappy with the 660m or 675m? (I really don't know how they compare to desktop gpus)

GW2 requirements will be much higher than D3, esp if you will spend a lot of time in WvsWvsW. There are massive dynamic events that will involve hundreds of people at once in PVE also.

The HD4000 is definitely MUCH better than the HD3000. According to reviews, it should be able to run GW2 on low. I just wouldn't consider it ideal.

Thanks Murlocke. Would you suggest getting a lappy with those cards or upgrade my current desktop?

Hmmm, I don't know how I feel about the game to be honest. Got the same feeling when I played torchlight, bored. Mind you, I think the graphic, customization and story were well done. Maybe it was the fact that i was playing the wizard and had to run away more and more as the enemies got harder, or simply playing alone left a bad taste in my mouth. I decide closer to launch if I'm getting it.

Have you played any of the previous Diablo games? These games certainly have their own flavor when it comes to gaming. It is a click fest and the main idea behind the game is simply to destroy everything and everyone in your path and get better gear. Plain and simple. I have high hopes for the pvp system. Since the pvp support (I felt at least) was lacking in Diablo 2 and it was simply just hack and slash at another person. Hopefully they have a nice setup going this time around since they have had a lot more experience with pvp after WoW.
