Also note with "aftermarket" coolers they exhaust hot-air which will be drawn in by the card above it, with these...nope.
I wouldn't use it because I am a silence-freak, but for the people who overclock like CRAZY and leave their pcs in another room with 100% fans 24/7 (I can name quiet a few here who are like that with multi gpus) or for anyone who wants it because it's cool (literally/aesthetically IN THEIR OPINION) or for whatever reason this is a good card.

funny how you target me and get butt hurt over a joke also what does a 7970 have to do with anything? please check my sig i own a 680. *facepalm* i wasn't being serious and im sure there is a market for it so uptight LOL.

1 advice: open the link to the coolaler forum and WATCH all the pictures !!!

the heatsink its INSANE !!! looks like a big ass vapor chamber with 9 LONG heatpipes with a very dense FIN array; i have no idea how can you get a better cooling heatsink outside liquidcooling (with a big rad btw)

this looks like a winner to me thumb.gif

SERIOUSLY, open the link, watch the picture carefully and THINK FOR A BIT if there is any actual, available heatsink that "looks" (for the lack of testing) better than this design

I don't understand the comments ripping on it saying that the product is horrid... They are at least trying something new and headed in a different direction than the countless ASUS and MSI aftermarket clones with 2x 92mm fans and such. Sure, the thing is massive, but it just oozes quality, and looks to be a really impressive piece of hardware. I'm 100% sure that they wouldn't dream of releasing a product like this if it didn't perform.

Yes it is. The bigger the better!
Now we just need some 680's with 200mm fans attached to it.

No one is really questioning its cooling performance. Rather, everyone is afraid of the noise. 40 mm fan is really noisy.

Well, part of my post was trying to convey that they have had to address this issue in planning and development. I really doubt these things are spinning at that high of RPM where its that audible. For example, going by the specs of a branded 40mm fan: http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/023/sy124020l_detail.html

It seems that it can in fact be quiet and RPM kept down especially when there are so many fans present in the first place.
