Stay with X58 or move to Z77?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone. Check my signature for my current setup. I'm planning on building a new rig and I'm wondering if it is worth the upgrade to Ivy Bridge or Ivy Bridge-E. One of my PCI Express x16 slots is broken and therefore I need a new motherboard.

My wishlist for the new rig:

ASUS Sabertooth Z77
AMD Radeon 7970
OCZ Vertex 4 SSD
CORSAIR H100 Liquid Cooler

Thoughts:

1. If I buy the Sabertooth and go to LGA 1156, is this pretty much a downgrade from my Core i7 930?
2. Do I buy another X58 motherboard instead and keep my current CPU? But I really like the new features in the Sabertooth.

What did was make my X58 Rig into a server/folding rig. I saw a ice little improvement but thats cause I haven't done any true OC'ing. I think you should get a Z77 board and a 2500K or other CPU until there are revisions of Ivy CPUs.
