Recommend me the best red tubing please!!

Thread Starter
Technical data:
- Thread: G1/4
- Outer diameter of fitting: 19-19,3mm
- Lenght: 26mm
- G1/4 thread lenght: 4,5mm
- Inlet hole ID: 10mm

For tubes:
Metric:
- ID 10mm; OD 13mm
- ID 9,5mm; OD 12,7mm
Inch:
- ID 3/8"; OD 1/2"

Those are the specifications of the fittings I am using. This will be for my first build with watercooling.

I'd like something more along the lines of the first image where the red is a bit see-through. The second image is something that I find yucky so any suggestions will be appreciated. Also, i live in Canada so I will not be ordering from across any border.

Just something else to add: I do have EK red koolant already so I could go with clear tubing, but I hear distilled water is still the best for the job and that it doesn't leave a stain behind. I do have 2 4L jugs of spring water so I might use that but I hear that spring water isn't the same as distilled.... is there any problem with it?

Thanks OCN

I like Primochill, its kinda transparent tubing, you can definitely see the fluid through it,

I have no experience with EK's tubing, I think it could be Masterkleer brand.

I only use distilled water in my loop, its perfectly safe and leaves your blocks clean.

agree with toaad. Primochill Primoflex tubing is brilliant. thumb.gif I've used the 7 1/6" tubing with 1/2 " barbs and it's awesome.

Spring water has traces of minerals, so it's best to avoid it as they may react with your components.

i use primochill tubing and use DISTILLED water not spring water, no arrow head or crystal gyser, they should only be 1-2 bucks/gal at any grocery store

Also if you want to use dye, I recommend Mayhem's dye/coolant. This is because their stuff does not stain components and tubes, and also do not leave "gunks" behind. Where EK coolant/dye people have been experiencing staining and also "gunks" in their loop.

And please excuse my grammar.. biggrin.gif

Colored Primochill/ distilled and forget about it. NO DYE
post #8 of 12
You don't need dyes if you are using red tubing, if you want your reservoir to be red, get a red led and tape it, or poke it into a transparent fill cap that has a opening for a LED.

Save yourself the headaches with dyes, but if you really insist, then get Mayhem's..

Primochill Pro LRT Red is what I am using, distilled + silver coil...

Sorry to hijack the thread, but has anyone got any pictures of Primochill Pro LRT clear tubing, can't decide between clear or the blue.

Any links to this?
I have been using EK blue coolant for some time now and can't find anything that would support your claim so far.
