Oh my God. Even if it's named Tesla, it doesn't mean it wouldn't use the same architecture.
Do your research first..

Looking forward to see what they will come of this conference.
Though whatever 600-series card they're releasing, it better darn well be available for consumers -at least- 50% of the time.

Huh? Double negative... you basically said: "Even if it's named Tesla, it does mean it would use the same architecture." I do not understand what you are trying saying?

Fermi, Kepler, Northern Islands, Southern Islands are GPU architecture names.

Tesla is a brand... like FireStream, GeForce, Radeon, Quadro, FirePro.

All these are just binned GPUs with different firmware/microcode.

Those Tesla cards that you linked to are probably all GF100 derivatives. The GK104 is DP performance was gimped as the additional hardware was not included (http://www.anandtech.com/show/5699/nvidia-geforce-gtx-680-review/2). Its DP performance is 1/24 that of its SP performance. This would never be used for a Tesla card so this could not be a dual GK104 card.

I think we would have at least seen a leak by now if GK110 was ready.

590s are just GF110x2, so I don't see your point...

My bad, I don't usually follow low end cards. The same reason why I didn't even bother trying to guess which was the latest mobile fermi based chip.

Well we've had lots of different specs speculation and leaks, some early perf charts etc. It's not much but we don't even have an idea if the GPU is ready, when it will launch etc.

For all we know we might get shown another card with wood screws. But since this announcement is coming straight from NV I would now say with almost 100% certainty that the high end kepler chip is real and Nvidia is working on it. (was kind of obvious when you looked at the compute perf of GK104 and the specs in general but anyways)

If this ends up being the GTX 690, either as a single or dual GPU solution - it will be an insta-buy for me. I knew that not jumping on a GTX 680 was a smart move. thumb.gif

I am nearly 100% certain it will be a Dual GK104 so disappointing...

But 7 Million transistors is 2*3.5 Million from the GK104, no way the GK110 just "happened" to have the same transistor count
