[Muro] NVIDIA's big Kepler graphics within seven billion transistors - Page 10

Looks like I have plenty of time to save for 3 or 4 of them and waterblocks. Needs to come out in august as speculated tho. Sick of these darn 480s. This will actually make the upgrade worth it. biggrin.gif

Indeed but my point was that releasing a quadro/telsa gk110 does not mean that they have to release a geforce gk110, they could release a gk110 quadro without having any impact whatsoever on the GTX680 or 690. A GK110 quadro card would most likely be the cream of the quadro crop and not many geforce owners would be willing/able to part with that much cash for a graphics card. A quadro 6000 is in the neighborhood of $4,000, well out of the range of most consumers looking at a GTX680/690.

I think that would work except when people see a GK110 released as a quadro that will surely have some effect on their high-end Geforce sales, because people will be expecting it even if Nvidia don't plan to release it for another 4-5 months.

Not a terrible plan though because they do need a new core for serious compute tasks, and I will admit that a Geforce GK110 release seems like wishful thinking for atleast a few more months but I can still hope can't I. biggrin.gif

I didn't knew it was a GPGPU conference... Mmmh. Hope it's not a Tesla card, I dnot have enough to buy a dedicated rig ONLY for 3d rendering and I'm pissed because the 680 is a DOWNGRADE compared to the 580...
