Well since I cant pull out the pins on me new AX 850 and I already bought almost 100 meters worth of sleeving for my new PSU, i decided just to build new cables, main question though, what kind of AWG cables will I need to make this home made psu cables, I could not really find a guide that would explain everything in detail to me frown.gif

18 AWG is the minimum recommended by the ATX specs, high quality units use 16 AWG for the two 12v wires in the 20+4pin ATX(main motherboard) connector... top of the market units(only high output Super Flower Platinum units thus far) use 16 AWG for all the 12v wires.... so, with that in mind you can settle for the minimum required or go the extra mile..

Yeah I did some searching and found this

The main [on AX 850] ATX, PCIe and EPS connectors use 16 AWG wires while the SATA and peripheral connectors use 18 AWG.
Thank you very much for explaining the difference, any further suggestions you could give? thumb.gif

I plan on doing the same with an ax 750, I think of using 16awg and 18awg.
You can also check ontic's build log to see how he created some custom cables for the ax1200
