GTX460 and Corsair H40

Well, I got this up and running last night and the temps seem much better than stock (Galaxy 1GB).

~30C Idle
~55C Load on Mass Effect 3 (1920 x 1080)

But I seem to have the cursed Corsair pump noise occurring as I've seen in the other forums so will try and give the fixes a try:
* turn the pump
* lay the machine on its side
* tap the tubes
* plug fan into PSU instead of MB

It's not a horrible sound (like a hard drive going off) but I wish it was silent.

If anyone else has some ideas (not interested in RMA process) I'd be happy to hear it!

sadly man...its just the pump running. also with a pre-assembled "close loop" system there is chance you have a bit of cavitation. i just finished my friends corsair mod tonight. hes using the h40 aswell but with open loop. the noise heard was significantly reduced after the new loop was setup but there is still a hum. also most pumps are mounted on noise dampening pads...this however is hard mounted directly to your system so the vibration is more thus = a tad more noise then a stand alone pump system. as long as your temps are doing well and the noise doesnt get significantly worse i wouldnt worry. but get it under warranty...just in case.

hope this helped and PICS of the 460... wanna see how the kit looks on my gfx card in its stock form. (rocking modded h70s on my sli 460s)

Thanks for the info .. I'm a noob to all of this so I wouldn't know how to go about modding the H40 to an open loop.

I'm going to try a few more things to dampen the noise and I may actually look at RMA if shipping is free/minimal.
