Hey guys just wondering does the Digital Output bypass all the sound card audio enhancements. also i just bought the Logitech Z-5500 and they have digital input. many reviews say they are better then the Z-906. i currently have Logitech X-540s so anything will sound better.

I think the general consensus is that the Z5500's are better than anything currently offered by Logitech. As for the digital out/in, generally digital outs bypass any involvement of onboard-DAC for a sound card. The DAC would be in the Z5500 that does the conversion.
However some cards will have Dolby decoders to pickup DD, DTS, DD Live! for games.

It will still compress into DD/DTS. But other then that...yes.

Hey OP what drivers are you using?
I was using the Auzen drivers from the website, but I saw these PAX drivers. Just curious to what you, or anyone else, are using.
Thanks.
